    This week, we were pleased to host Home School Day at the Chickasaw Cultural Center!

    We welcomed groups from all over the state for this day of fun!

    The day kicked off with special guided tours of the campus.

    Storytelling in the Traditional Council House is a regular activity here at the Cultural Center.

    It was a gorgeous day in the Living Village. The kids loved playing in the Summer and Winter homes!

  • Labor Day 2013

    Last weekend was our annual Labor Day Celebration.

    We had such an awesome turnout! I can't believe there were more than 1,400 people who came to participate!

    If you missed it, there were a lot of activities in our Living Village!

    Cultural demonstrations were in full swing!

    The summer and winter homes were a big hit with the children! They loved playing with the replicas!

    It was a gorgeous day. Perfect for stomp dancing!

    In the picture above, they are doing the “Snake Dance.” It is my favorite because it starts out slow and finishes really fast!

  • The Easter Celebration

    The Easter Celebration was such a success! We couldn’t have asked for better weather or community participation!

    Would you believe me if I told you that this was my first Easter egg hunt?

    I know! I’ve been missing out!

    Of course, no Easter celebration is complete without this guy:

    He was definitely a crowd favorite!

    See the green bags in the photo above? Those were given out to all the kids! It was so cute to watch them collect their eggs!
