Five-year-old Pete is orphaned in the forest after his parents are killed in a car crash. Pete lives in the forest for six years with Elliot the dragon, his only friend and protector, before he is spotted by a lumberjack crew and forest ranger, Grace Meacham. Grace tries to convince Pete to come live with her, but what does this mean for Elliot?
